Construction Wraps Up for Elmhurst Charter School

Construction has just about finished for a new school building, at 79-17 51st Avenue in Elmhurst, Queens. Known as the Elm Community Charter School, it was developed by  and built by the firm's in-house general contractor, .

The 4-story structure contains roughly 25 classrooms, several multipurpose spaces, a gym with a rooftop basketball court, a cafeteria room, and a full-height cellar level.

Designed by , the school stands feet tall and totals square feet. Construction began in November of 2020, and a certificate of occupancy is expected to be issued within the coming months.

The new Elm Community Charter School building comes as a significant upgrade to the institution's current facility in Glendale. The school states that this larger and better-equipped location will educate over 500 students, living in Queens' Elmhurst and Corona neighborhoods.
