DC Police Dept Set to Relocate HQ: Making Way for Daly Building Renovations
D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department has announced plans to relocate their HQ to One Judiciary Square sometime this summer. The move will clear the way for the long-planned renovation of The Daly building, originally constructed in 1941. The Office of Public-Private Partnerships solicited proposals for the rehab of the 600,000 square foot building in 2018 with 4 bidders submitting proposals. A development partner has still however not been selected for the $300M project but the HQ move signals that the project will advance.
