Deka Immobilien Submits Plans for Renovation of 175 Federal Street
Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH has submitted a small project review application for the renovation of 175 Federal Street. Plans call for the enclosure of the first 2 stories of the building in a canted structural glazing system. As part of the project, the building's lobby would be relocated to the corner of Purchase Street and Summer Street and a new elevator will provide ADA access to a raised platform available to the public. The emergency generator and loading dock would also be relocated and replaced with active uses along the Dewey Square frontage. This new area will create around 12,000 square feet of new space anticipated to consist of active uses such as retail and restaurant spaces.
