Demolition Permits Issued For MAAFA Redemption Project
Two demolition permits have been issued for the conversion of a church at 4241 W. Washington in West Garfield Park into the MAAFA Center for Arts & Activism (The MAC Center). The project includes demolishing two adjacent buildings at 4233 and 4245 W. Washington. The church building will be fully renovated to house the MAAFA Redemption Project and Sankofa School of the Arts. The development is part of the Sankofa Wellness Village, which MAAFA is co-leading in design and development.
