Designs Revealed for North Station Gateway
The RMR Group has filed plans for a proposed 40-story mixed-use tower at 251 Causeway Street, set to revitalize a critical edge of the Bulfinch Triangle. The building's form is designed to complement the triangular shape of the site and to harmonize with the diverse context of the surrounding neighborhoods. Positioned as a gateway to North Station and Downtown Boston, it plays a crucial role in shaping the skyline and will be a prominent feature visible from the Zakim and North Washington Street Bridges to the north, as well as from Charlestown, the North End, the West End, the Boston Harbor, and Logan Airport. The tower would include 300 hotel rooms, approximately 420 residential units, and approximately 30,000 SF of retail, restaurant, and amenity space.
