Developer Planning New Affordable Housing Community in St. Petersburg
Developer Blue Sky Communities is planning a new affordable community in St. Petersburg that will provide 66 residential units. SkyWay Lofts II is phase two and will be located across from SkyWay Lofts, another Blue Sky Communities development, which offers 65 residential units. The City of St. Petersburg has committed $6.5 million in funding for the project and Blue Sky has applied for $3.4 million from the Penny for Pinellas fund. The one- and two-bedroom apartments will be contained in a four-story building and will have 65 parking spaces, 34 on the floor. Construction on SkyLofts II is expected to star by the end of 2023 and will take approximately 14 months to complete. Pre-leasing will begin 60 days prior to completion, applicants on the waiting list for SkyWay Lofts will automatically be included on the waiting list for SkyWay Lofts II.
