Developer Pursuing Final Approval for Mixed-Use Project in Downtown St. Petersburg

The development team of 900 Central, a proposed mixed-use building in downtown St. Petersburg, will submit revised plans to gain final approval.  The project was administratively approved by the St. Petersburg Development Review Services Division.  Now the project will need final approval by the Community Redevelopment Agency at an upcoming City Council meeting. The planned 14-story mixed use building in downtown St. Petersburg will feature 205 residential units, 9,961 square feet of ground level retail space. The apartments, 34 studios, 116 one-bedroom units, and 55 two-bedroom units, will range in size from 512 to 1,139 square feet.  The property is located at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Central Avenue.  There is an existing building on the site which was built in 1918 and is the oldest building in St. Petersburg’s EDGE district.  Plans show that historic elements of the existing building will be integrated into the new building.
