Developer Reduces Height, Number of Units of Downtown Tampa Tower

Kolter Group, the developers of One Tampa, a proposed tower with condominiums and ground floor retail space, have reduced the height from 55 stories to 42 stories. Also, the number of condominiums was reduced from 311 to 225 units. The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority had indicated that it would contest the height waiver for the project. The reduction in height, number of units and number of parking spaces will also help with getting construction started sooner. In September 2022, Kolter reached an agreement with the city and redesigned the northern and eastern facades to incorporate the architectural character of the historic Tarr Furniture Building at 520 N. Tampa Street, built in the 1920’s.  The architects designed the facade of One Tampa to replicate the Tarr Furniture building.  Condominium units will range in size from 1,100 to 4,000 square feet with penthouses on the top three floors. The 12th floor will feature a two-story amenity deck including a fitness center, club room and pool deck. Located across the street from Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, the site is bounded by North Tampa Street on the east, North Ashley Drive on the West, East Twiggs Street on the North and East Madison Street on the south.
