Developers of St. Petersburg Condominium Tower to Revise Plans

The developers of Lake House Condominiums, a proposed condominium tower that will rise over Mirror Lake in downtown St. Petersburg, will rework the design due to questions raised by the St. Petersburg Development Review Commission.  During a meeting on November 2, 2022, the commission raised questions about the height, scale and setback of the proposed an 18-story mixed-use development that will feature 77 condominiums and an 840-square foot café.  The developer suggested reducing the base by one story, to have a four-story parking garage instead of the five in the plans, the commission countered with a suggestion to reduce the base by two stories.  The developers objected, stating that a three-story parking garage would lead to an insufficient number of parking spaces along with engineering issues.  The developers are willing to increase the setback by six feet to 16 feet. Located along Mirror Lake, with views of the downtown St. Petersburg Skyline, the plans for Lake House Condominiums feature a 5-story parking garage 133 parking spaces.  The sixth-floor amenity area will include a pool on a roof terrace overlooking the lake along with a clubroom and fitness center. The one to three-bedroom residences will be on floors 7-17, they will range from 900 to 2,280 square feet.  Four 1,650-2,800 square feet penthouses will comprise the 18th floor.  The existing buildings on the site will be demolished prior to construction starting.  Due to the number of potential changes to the design, the commission voted unanimously to defer a hearing on the revised plans to January 2, 2023.
