Devs Announce Joint Venture for New Gowanus Multi-Family
A trio of developers, consisting of Tavros Capital, Charney Companies, and Canyon Partners, have just announced in a press release that they will be forming a joint venture for a 9-story, mixed-use project, set to rise at 585 Union Street (aka 577 Union Street) in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Designed by , the building will contain rental apartments, with approximately 25% of the units dedicated to affordable housing. Residences will be offered in studio, and one to three-bedroom configurations.
Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center and a rooftop deck, with a swimming pool. Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, as well as an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
The project site measures square feet and is bound by Union Street, 3rd Avenue, and Sackett Street. When complete, the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet.
is serving as the general contractor, and the project is expected to cost around $164.7 million. Of this sum, $107 million has been obtained through a construction loan, issued by Pacific Western Bank.
