Donohoe Files Plans for Friendship Heights Project

Donohoe Development Company has filed plans for a multifamily development on an approximately 40,357 square foot site bounded by Wisconsin Avenue, NW on the west, Harrison Street, NW on the north, 42nd Street, NW on the east, and Garrison Street, NW to the south. The Project will generate approximately 127 new residential units at a desirable, transit-oriented location with immediate access to a mixed-use corridor lined with various commercial and other non-residential uses. The development will also devote 33% of the residential units to affordable housing, which far exceeds the amount that would be required through matter-of-right development. Affordable housing units will be set aside for households with incomes earning up to 50%, 60%, and 80% of the Median Family Income (“MFI”). Overall, the Project will aesthetically and functionally enhance an underutilized site located within the Friendship Heights Transition Zone, which is presently improved with surface parking and an inactive 705-foot television tower.
