Drilling Begins at 98 DeKalb Avenue
Developer and general contractor, , has started drilling and excavation work at 98 DeKalb Avenue; the future site of a 49-story residential tower in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
Designed by , the structure will contain rental apartments and square feet of commercial space. This would likely come in the form of ground-floor retail.
Alternatively addressed as 180 Ashland Place, the abnormally shaped lot previously contained a parking facility with entrances on both Ashland Place and DeKalb Avenue. This has since been demolished.
The new development will stand feet tall and total square feet.
Holes are currently being drilled for the foundation's support piles. Construction is expected to take approximately 3 years, concluding in the fall of 2025. Detailed renderings have not been released for the tower yet, but we expect to see better depictions become available as work progresses.
