Duffy Properties commences visionary mixed-use project in Burlington’s commercial heart, retail space now leasing
Waltham-based developer and property manager Duffy Properties has started work on a visionary 7-acre mixed-use development that will transform a long-vacant parcel in the center of Burlington into a diverse, walkable district. Located at 154 Cambridge Street along Route 3A, Duffy’s development will activate the site of the shuttered Building 19 ½ department store with 29 residences and 48,000 square feet of destination retail. Demolition of the former Building 19 ½ commenced March 13th and is expected to conclude this month. Construction of the project will begin this Summer, with occupancy of residences and retail expected in Spring 2018. Duffy has developed about 500 apartment residences and 1.5 million square feet of commercial space along the 128 corridor, all of which the firm owns and manages.
