Everett Soccer Stadium Takes Step Forward With Inclusion in $4B Funding Plan
A provision allowing for a New England Revolution soccer stadium along Everett's waterfront took a step forward with provisions in favor of the project included in the Mass. legislature's economic development bond bill. Specifically, the bill includes language that would remove the “Designated Port Area” (DPA) distinction from a 43-acre parcel of land located at 173 Alford St. in Everett, where the Revolution plan a 25,000-seater stadium. The bill which would authorize $3.96 billion in capital programs, also includes $500 million investment in the life sciences industry and $400 million over the next decade to the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.
