Extension Request Filed for Former Cambridge Courthouse Redevelopment
An additional one-year extension request has been submitted for the approved special permit for 40 Thorndike Street in Cambridge. Per the filing, Leggat McCall is currently involved in ongoing design review with the community development department staff and expects to file for a building permit in the coming months. The approved project will transform the existing Sullivan Courthouse and Middlesex Jail tower in East Cambridge into a 20-story mixed-use tower to feature 48 affordable units of housing along with nearly 400,000 square feet of technical office space plus retail, restaurant, and community uses.
