Exterior and interior finishing underway at Boston University’s Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre
The four-story steel frame of Boston University (BU)’s new Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre on Commonwealth Avenue has topped off, and exterior and interior finishing are now underway. The theatre’s exterior facade is being weatherproofed; moisture-resistant cladding and fireproofing are both being installed in anticipation of exterior finish panel installation along the sides of the building. The theatre will feature a striking glass curtain wall overlooking Commonwealth Avenue, in addition to aluminum composite panel and ultra-high-performance concrete finishes. Inside the building, framing of interior spaces, fireproofing and installation of electrical, mechanical & plumbing utilities are all underway. The 75,000-square-foot Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre will open this Fall. The following are photographs of the Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre:
