On January 4th building permits were issued by the Federal Aviation Administration to developers for the planned two-tower mixed-use development for 300 Northeast 3rd Avenue in Flagler Village, Fort Lauderdale. Ombelle will rise 43 stories high, with 1,100 dwelling units, 11,217 square feet of retail space, and 1,100 parking spaces. Amenities will include a 51,537-square-foot deck with two pools, seating and lounging areas, a fitness center with adequate locker rooms, a spin cycle room, yoga and dance studios, a spa, coworking spaces, a chef’s kitchen and dining areas, library, bar and lounge and a gaming lounge. The project was under review for five months total after applying for seven FAA permits on August 1, 2022. Plans were originally filed with Fort Lauderdale’s Development Review Committee to rise 493 feet tall but now the FAA has permitted the developer to build as high as 544 feet.
