3 Sutton Place Update 07/30/21

Facade Work Almost Complete at Sutton Place Residential Tower

At 3 Sutton Place in the Sutton Place neighborhood of Manhattan, facade work is progressing quickly. General contractor, Lendlease, has been in charge of the 847-foot tower's construction and is slowly approaching the end of the building's upper exterior work. The Australian-owned firm topped out the tower back in August 2020, and at this point, only a small section of the 62-story, steel superstructure, remains visible.

At ground level, there is still plenty of work to be done. The base, which essentially functions as a podium, was specifically designed by architectural firm, Thomas Juul Hansen, to house mechanical functions only. Therefore,  all of the 121 residential units planned by developer, Gamma Real Estate, are being built on top of these mechanical floors.

By strategically placing residential units above building functions, 3 Sutton Place will have a greater number of units with better views. Inherently, this will raise the average unit price, and ultimately the building's value overall. Construction of 3 Sutton Place is expected to complete in early 2022.
