35 Commercial Street Update 12/01/22

Facade Work Nearly Complete at 33 Commercial Street

General contractor, , has nearly finished installing the facade materials for a 22-story mixed-use project, going up at 33 Commercial Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Externally, it still appears that a single floor, midway up the structure, remains unclad. The roof terrace railings have also not been installed yet, and it seems that a few smaller trim pieces have yet to be put on here and there, but overall, from the outside at least, progress is looking strong.

The main focus for the build team right now is the interior of the building. While framing is more or less complete, sheetrock installation, flooring, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems are all still a work in progress.

Developed by , the building is set to contain rental apartments, and square feet of commercial retail space, located on the ground floor. Tenant Amenities are to include three separate landscaped courtyards, a fitness center, a children’s play area, and a resident lounge.

Designed by , 33 Commercial Street stands feet tall and totals square feet. Totaling $170 million, construction has been financed jointly by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the NYC Housing Development Corporation, and Wells Fargo. Work is expected to wrap up by the fall of 2023.
