Facade Work Quickly Progresses at One Madison
Steel erector, NYC Constructors LLC, has shared new photos of the current construction progress at One Madison Avenue in Manhattan's Flatiron District.
At this time, nearly the entire glass facade has been installed, which is incredible, considering that only one or two bands of curtainwall had been fitted to the structure at the time of our previous update, just one month ago.
Developed by , the 27-story tower shares its base with the iconic MetLife Clock Tower and contributes an additional 530,000 square feet of office space. According to NYC Constructors, Banker Steel Company fabricated 4,500 tons of high-strength steel for the project.
Designed by , with general contractor, , overseeing the build, the completed "One Madison" will stand 404 feet tall and grow from 860,000 to 1.4 million square feet.
In addition to office space, the expansion will add approximately 1.2 acres of landscaped, outdoor terrace spaces. Down below, the building will receive square feet of retail and restaurant space, 12,700 square feet of private event areas, a tenant club, an artisanal market, and a fitness club, spanning 3-stories.
With the superstructure topped out and facade work now underway, construction is estimated to finish by the end of 2023. JLL is handling the marketing for One Madison and has already landed a deal with IBM for the lease of 5-full floors within the new tower.
