Final EIS Submitted for Innovation QNS

A Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been submitted for a proposed megaproject, known as Innovation QNS; a massive mixed-use development that would span 5-blocks in Astoria, Queens. Submitted by Bedrock Real Estate Partners and Silverstein Properties, under the name Kaufman Bedrock Astoria I LLC, the application requests zoning text amendments, and Large-Scale General Development special permits for bulk modifications. Last week, the City Planning Commission (CPC) held a public hearing in order to review the project. Now that a Final EIS has been submitted, the CPC can proceed to vote on the application before making a recommendation to the City Council.

If ultimately approved, Innovation QNS would consist of 12 new buildings, which would bring a total of 2,800 housing units to the area. The project in its entirety would reportedly cost somewhere in the ballpark of $2 billion to construct.
