Foundation Pours Begin for 25-Story Tower Project in Newark

Subcontractor, SBF Construction Inc, has begun to pour the concrete foundation of a 25-story, residential tower, going up at 930 McCarter Highway in Newark, New Jersey. Last week, SBF oversaw the pouring of an 8-foot thick slab, totaling 1,500 cubic yards.

Developed by , the building will contain apartments, with 68 of these to be dedicated to affordable housing. Units will be offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations.

Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 4-story parking garage, with enough room for vehicles. The development will feature a number of tenant amenities, including a fitness center with a yoga room, a lounge, a coworking space with private offices, and a pool deck with cabanas and grilling stations.

Designed by , the building will total square feet altogether and top out at feet. Coming as part of Newark's River Redevelopment Plan, the building will be located on the banks of the Passaic River in Downtown Newark, where it will sit directly across the street from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
