Foundation Pours Begin for Student Housing Project in Lenox Hill

General contractor, , is currently pouring concrete for a multi-story foundation at 1393 York Avenue in Manhattan's Lenox Hill neighborhood. This will sit beneath a new, 17-story student housing building, for .

The structure will contain residences, offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations. The building at full occupancy will be able to accommodate 272 students.

Amenities are to include a fitness center with a yoga studio and a basketball court, a roof terrace, a multipurpose room, an outdoor garden, music practice rooms, various event spaces, and of course, multiple lounges and study spaces.

The structure will have 2 stacked cellar levels, which are to consist of the wellness amenities listed above and the building operations facilities.

Designed by , 1393 York Street will stand feet tall and total square feet. Foundation work is expected to take until the end of 2023, after which superstructure pours will commence. The entire project is expected to wrap up by the summer of 2025.

The project site was previously occupied by the Church of the Epiphany. After the parish was relocated last year, the church was fully demolished in order to make room for the new development.
