Foundation Work Underway for Gowanus Multi-Family
General contractor, , is currently pouring the concrete foundation for a 9-story, mixed-use project, set to rise at 585 Union Street (aka 577 Union Street) in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Jointly developed by Tavros Capital, Charney Companies, and Canyon Partners, the building will contain rental apartments, with approximately 25% of the units dedicated to affordable housing. Residences will be offered in studio, and one to three-bedroom configurations.
Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center and a rooftop deck, with a swimming pool. Plans also call for square feet of ground-floor retail space, as well as an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.
The project site measures square feet and is bound by Union Street, 3rd Avenue, and Sackett Street. Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet.
The project is expected to cost around $164.7 million. Of this sum, $107 million has been obtained through a construction loan, issued by Pacific Western Bank.
