Funding Approved for Affordable Housing in South Chicago 

The City Council has approved additional funding for a five-story housing development at 9200 S. Burley in South Chicago. The new building will feature 81 affordable apartments, a community room, social service offices, 6,500 square feet of retail space designated for a grocery store, and a parking lot for 44 vehicles. Two existing buildings on the site will be demolished to make way for the development.
