GC's Selected for New St. Elizabeth's East Hospital Project
Turner Construction Co. & MCN Build have been selected as the general contractors for the $375M St. Elizabeths East new hospital project. The new hospital which will be run by Universal Health Services Inc. will include a 136-bed full-service community hospital, including maternal health and newborn delivery services, a verified trauma center, a 77,000-square-foot ambulatory office building for outpatient and community health services, and a 500-space parking garage. In a statement, Mayor Bower confirmed "we remain committed to building a health care system that meets the needs of all residents, attacks health disparities, and makes us more resilient for the challenges that lie ahead. With this announcement, we are one step closer to transforming our health care system and delivering a state-of-the-art hospital in Ward 8.” Construction is expected to last through late 2024.
