840 Atlantic Avenue Update 09/22/21

Hiccup Encountered for Brooklyn Mixed-use Proposal

An application by Vanderbilt Atlantic Holdings LLC for a Prospect Heights mixed-use development at 840 Atlantic Avenue has been slowly navigating the public review process. In June, the City Planning Commission (CPC) had originally reviewed and voted on the application, but they've now had to do so again. The City Council, who just finished their own review, saw changes that they believed needed to be made, and sent a modified application back to the CPC. The CPC has since reviewed the modified application and sent an approval letter to the City Council. If ultimately approved, the application would facilitate the construction of an 18-story building with 316 residential units, and over 50,000 square feet of retail space.
