Jair Lynch Planning 585 Units for Rhode Island Ave. Site

Jair Lynch is planning a multiphased residential project across 7 lots in the 600 Block of Rhode Island Ave. NE and demo permit apps have been filed for several of the sites. Located directly adjacent to the Rhode Island Ave Metro station and the Metropolitan Branch Trail, the property is a 2.14-acre assemblage of seven lots, six of which are owned by affiliates of the Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church and have been ground leased for 102 years to Jair Lynch. Jair Lynch owns the seventh lot.

The initial phase of the project would include approximately 383 Class A apartments. Of the 383 apartments, 53 are planned as affordable residential units serving families and individuals earning up to 60% Area Median Income (“AMI”), and 76 are planned as moderate-income units serving families and individuals earning up to 80% AMI.  The second phase of this project intends to deliver 202 units of mixed-income Class A housing.
