101 Hudson Street Update 10/21/22

Jersey City Office Tower Trades for $346M

A 42-story office tower, located at 101 Hudson Street in Jersey City has just been sold for $346 million. Known as the "Merrill Lynch Building", this gigantic structure was acquired by The Birch Group from the previous owner, Veris Residential, in a deal brokered by Cushman & Wakefield.

The Class-A building contains over 1.2 million square feet of leasable office space, as well as square feet of ground-floor retail. It also boasts a massive underground parking garage, with enough room for nearly 900 vehicles.

Originally constructed in 1992, it was developed by LCOR Incorporated and designed by Brennan Beer Gorman/Architects (now BBGM), with the now-defunct construction company, Morse Diesel, serving as the general contractor.

101 Hudson Street stands feet tall and totals a whopping square feet.

A fun fact to note is that for well over a decade, 101 Hudson Street was actually the tallest building in all of New Jersey. It held this title from the time it was completed in 1992 until 2004 when it was surpassed by 30 Hudson Street.
