Kingsbridge Development Site Acquired for $20.6M

square foot development site, located at 160 Van Cortlandt Park South in the Bronx's Kingsbridge neighborhood, has just been sold for $20.6 million. It was purchased by Tishman Speyer from the Roman Catholic Church, in an arms-length transaction.

Tishman Speyer has already filed building permits for an 8-story, residential development at 171 West 239th Street, which is the site's alternative address.

The new building will contain units, consisting of both rental apartments and affordable housing. Plans also call for a cellar level and an enclosed parking garage with enough room for vehicles.

Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet. Approximately 3 existing buildings belonging to the Blessed Virgin Mary Church would have to be demolished in order to make way for the new development.
