Large Warehouse Project Proposed for Inwood
Industrial property investment titan, Centerpoint Properties, is proposing a large warehouse structure at 65 Rason Road in Inwood, NY (Long Island). The building would total 138,245 square feet and be constructed on the 8.7-acre site of a former sewage treatment plant. The property's location is ideal because of its proximity to JFK Airport, which sits less than 2-miles away.
The Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency is currently reviewing the proposal in order to study the possibility of offering tax breaks for the developer. The project would reportedly cost $84 million if green-lit, with an acquisition cost of approximately $30 million. The project would also generate 75 construction jobs and 25 full-time permanent jobs.
