Large Yonkers Residential Project Breaks Ground
Construction has just kicked off for a sizeable, 7-story residential project at 57 Alexander Street in Yonkers, NY. General contractor, will build the designed structure in phases, with work expected to conclude sometime in 2023.
Developed by , the building is set to contain units, with 10% dedicated to affordable housing. Dwellings will be offered in studio, one, and two-bedroom configurations. According to Boston Real Estate Times, over 25,000 square feet of tenant amenities will be offered, including "a landscaped public esplanade with access to the Hudson River waterfront, an outdoor heated swimming pool, a roof deck with grilling stations and dining areas, a fitness center with strength training and cardio equipment, a golf simulator, a game room, and a co-working lounge".
The development will also have a cast-in-place parking garage with room for vehicles, and the property's rear waterfront is to receive a new shoreline retaining wall, complete with rebuilt piers. 57 Alexander will replace multiple industrial buildings that used to occupy the development area. Because the project site is located within a Qualified Opportunity Zone, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) will have heavy involvement in any environmental cleanup efforts.
