Manhattan Site Leveled for College Academic Center
Demolition work is just about finished at 132 Nassau Street in the Financial District, as the two buildings that used to occupy the site have now been fully leveled. The lot is being redeveloped by SL Green Realty for Pace University, and it will soon be home to a new 27-story academic center, addressed as 15 Beekman Street. Ismael Leyva Architects has designed the 215,000 sqft building that will house classrooms, dorms, student resources, a library, and a cafeteria. Pace University will not own the property outright but has instead signed a 30-year leasehold with SL Green Realty and will occupy the entirety of the new building for the duration of the deal.
