Mark Development Teams Up with ARE in Joint Riverside Development in Newton
Mark Development has recruited life science developer Alexandria Real Estate Equities in a joint venture to develop two properties in the Riverside MBTA area of Newton.
ARE will assist in development of 63,000 SF of lab space in place of the previously planned hotel at the Riverside Station Redevelopment, in conjunction with their planned 62,000 SF redevelopment of the neighboring Riverside Center office park. The City of Newton approved Alexandria's request for rezoning in March, allowing the company to move forward with life science conversion of the office complex.
The two properties will feature a total of 1,087,531 SF of mixed-use development across 11 buildings near the Riverside MBTA commuter rail station.
