Mass Timber Multifamily Under Review in Glover Park
Grosvenor has submitted plans for the redevelopment of the 3300 Whitehaven St. NW site, currently home to a vacant office property. Plans call for approximately 256 units and 5,682 square feet of ground-floor space reserved for BISW. The firm proposes to develop the project using mass timber construction. Per the filing, using mass timber will achieve a substantial reduction in the building's overall embodied carbon — a reduction of approximately 7,700 mT of embodied carbon or an approximately 133% reduction from the project’s estimated baseline utilizing traditional construction.
