Mixed-Use Community with Affordable Housing Proposed on Habour Island in Tampa
Developer Boston Capital has submitted plans for Harbour Island Apartments which will offer 162 apartment units along with 11,426 square feet of retail space. Boston Capital is proposing the development utilizing Florida’s Live Local Act which allows developers to increase residential density and bypass city approvals as long as 40% of the residential units are designated for workforce housing, priced for individuals making up to 120% of the area median income. The studio and one-bedroom apartments will range from 424 to 763 square feet. The location on Harbour Island, across from downtown Tampa, is with walking distance of Amalie Arena, the Tampa Convention Center, Sparkman’s Wharf and other downtown attractions.
