Mixed-Use University Building Under Review in Hoboken
A 13-story, mixed-use project, proposed at 1 Castle Point Terrace in Hoboken, New Jersey, has just been presented to the city's Planning Board.
Coming as the latest improvement to the Stevens Institute of Technology campus, it will be known as "Davis Hall".
Floors one to three of the structure will contain classrooms, teaching labs, and offices. Floors four to six will feature dry laboratory and research rooms, more offices, study/ gathering areas, and the main lobby (since the building will be constructed on sloped terrain). The rest of the floors will consist of student housing, with 457 beds in total. The building's roof will have an elevated solar canopy installation to provide enhanced energy.
Designed by Davis Brody Bond, the structure will stand 158 feet tall and total 238,000 square feet altogether. The building will replace the current Davis Hall; a 4-story, student housing building.
