Moffitt Cancer Center Gets Approval from Community Benefits Advisory Committee
The proposed Moffitt Cancer Center in downtown St. Petersburg has taken a step forward. The St. Petersburg Community Benefits Advisory Committee has voted to recommend that the city accept the community benefits package proposed by the development team. The multi-use project is slated for 800 1st Avenue N. in downtown St. Petersburg anchored by Moffitt Cancer Center. Moffit plans for a 75,000 square foot comprehensive cancer care center, in addition the project will include a 30-story residential tower with 350 units, including 70 workforce housing units and a 14-story hotel. The buildings will share a parking garage. Also included in the development, on the southern portion of the lot, UPC Insurance plans to construct a new headquarters building.
