New EDGE District Boutique Hotel Takes a Step Forward
Local developer Eastman Equity will move forward with the 114-room boutique hotel in downtown St. Petersburg’s EDGE District. The St. Petersburg City Council determined that the development is consistent with the Intown West Redevelopment Plan. The council did express concerns with parking, which the developers will address, the parking for the development will be offsite. The hotel, which will also include 5,000 feet of commercial space, will rise on Central Avenue at the corner of Central and 11th Street with 321 feet of frontage along Central Avenue. The development will be comprised of the main hotel tower along with six food and beverage concepts, including a lobby bar, pool bar on the 2nd floor and rooftop bar on the 13th floor. The 1940’s building currently on the site will be included in the new hotel design and will be the site of a new full-service restaurant. A stand-alone bar with a rooftop bar will be constructed on the west end of the development. Groundbreaking is expected in early 2023 with completion in the first half of 2024.
