New in the Neighborhood: Fenway Update 10/10/19

new in the neighborhood fenway

The Fenway neighborhood has already undergone a massive transformation, from ballpark centric to hip residential area feature shopping and some of Boston's top restaurants. With large residential projects like Van Ness, The Harlo, and Pierce Boston opening over the past few years new residents have flocked to Fenway. Relative to this development things have slowed down slightly with just 377 residential units currently under construction and another 467 approved but not yet started. With Scape recently altering their plans for 1252-1270 Boylston due to community feedback requesting more housing, it is clear Fenway is still growing. The Scape plan for Boylston Place along with The Beacon & The Ipswich would bring another 1300+ units to this area, including 220 affordable.

Let's check out the multi-family projects scheduled to welcome residents soon.

Fenway Center

Construction on Fenway's most visible project, fronting the Mass. Pike is rapidly progressing with phase one of the Fenway Center set to open in January 2020. The project will include 312 apartments above, 37,000 square feet of retail space plus parking for 200 cars. As part of The Fenway Center, a 12,000 square foot landscaped pedestrian deck will run over Yawkey Station. Units here will range in size from studios through 2 bedrooms.

839 Beacon

Just next to The Fenway Center sits 839 Beacon Street, home to 45 rental units, a mix of studios through 3 bedrooms. While construction here is nearly complete, the project is still waiting on gas connection according to the building's leasing agent Brian Caluori at Gibson Sotheby's. Units at 839 Beacon will feature floor to ceiling windows, stainless appliances, and quartz countertops. Residents will also have access to a common lounge, fitness center and garage parking. 839 Beacon is now set to open in January.

Rising rapidly along Symphony road, The Henry will feature 20 luxury condos expected to open later this Fall. A majority of the units within The Henry will offer 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with open concept floor plans, custom kitchens and top of the line appliances. Under the project is an 11 car heated parking garage.

401 Park

Although it is not a residential project, we must mention the ongoing renovations at 401 Park. With the new Time Out Market food hall opened this past summer along with new green space and the upcoming Trillium outpost, 401 Park is offering a great array of amenities for Fenway's residents.
