New Inpatient Building Approved at Beth Israel Medical Center
The Boston Planning Board has approved Beth Israel's plan for their first new building in over 20 years. The 10-story, 345,000 sf building will feature 158 new single bed patient rooms along with operating suites that will accommodate the latest in medical technology. The plans also call for the relocation of the existing helipad from the neighboring Rosenberg building to the new inpatient building.
The development will also bring pedestrian improvements to the Longwood Medical area along with enhanced landscaping at the entrance to the Emerald Necklace.
