New Northeastern University student housing tower, one of Roxbury’s tallest buildings, tops off


Northeastern University’s new 21-story student housing tower, located at 10 Burke Street in Roxbury steps from Ruggles Station, has topped off, becoming one of Roxbury’s tallest buildings. The $160 million tower will contain 221 student housing units for Northeastern students, and is Boston’s first ever dormitory financed by a private developer; Northeastern has partnered with American Campus Communities to build the tower. With the final beam now in place, installation of exterior finishes will begin along the tower’s facade. The tower will include resident amenities such as recreation and gaming areas and a fitness center, in addition to approximately 3,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Construction of the tower began last Summer, and is expected to last approximately two more years. The following is a video of the tower’s topping-off:
