Next Phase of Bridge District Wins Approval

The D.C. Zoning Commission has approved designs for the next phase of the Bridge District on parcels 1 & 2 within the site. Plans call for two mixed-use buildings containing approximately 825 residential units with 85 units designated affordable, 151 lodging units, and roughly 25,000 square feet of retail space. The project’s emphasis on sustainability is evidenced via LEED Gold certification and plans to include rooftop solar panels. In addition, the structural design for Building 1 employs mass timber which, assuming the development team is able to obtain the necessary Construction Code modifications, would be the largest mass timber residential building in Washington, DC.
