NYC Mayors Office Reviewing 141-05 109th Avenue

The NYC Mayor's Office is now reviewing an application, submitted by , proposing a 4-story, mixed-use development, at 141-05 109th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Currently late in the public review process, the application has already been evaluated by the Community Board, the Borough President, the City Planning Commission, and the City Council, meaning that the Mayor's Office now has the power to give this proposal the official go-ahead. If approved, the proposed plans would rezone eight neighboring lots, and combine six of them to form the project site.

Designed by , the resulting, square foot building would contain rental apartments, offered in studio, and one to three-bedroom configurations. Approximately 15 of these units would be dedicated to permanently affordable housing.

In addition to residential units, the ground floor would feature square feet of office space, square feet of retail space, and 5,950 square feet of community facility space, which is to consist of a pre-kindergarten facility.

The building would also have 3,660 square feet of landscaped open space for the pre-kindergarten, as well as an enclosed parking garage, with enough room for vehicles.

The project site spans square feet and is currently occupied by a pair of building material yards. Two to three structures would have to be demolished in order to make way for the new development.
