Phase 2 of Covent Hotel Redevelopment Breaks Ground
Construction has commenced on the second phase of a development in Lincoln Park at 537 W. Drummond. Phase 1 involved the adaptive reuse of the historic 1915 Covent Hotel, transforming 64 single room occupancies (SROs) into 30 affordable housing units along with ground-floor retail space. The new phase will feature a seven-story building rising 80 feet on the former parking lot behind the hotel, adding 84 residential units and 52 parking spaces. Plans for Phase 2 also include a ground-floor lobby, amenity space, and parking for 57 bicycles.
