Plan Commission Approves New QTS Data Center

The Chicago Plan Commission (CPC) has approved a new $300 million data center by QTS along the south branch of the Chicago River, at 2800 S. Ashland, on the former site of the Sun-Times printing plant. The 3-story, 446,000-square-foot facility will be built next to an existing data center on the property, which was acquired by QTS in 2014. The development plans include perforated metal screening to block the view of generators along the Canalport Riverwalk Park.
