Plans Submitted for Redevelopment of South Miami City Hall
The City of South Miami is reviewing a proposal to redevelop the South Miami City Hall site into a mixed-use development. Link at SOMI, a redevelopment of the city hall site, will include city offices along with multifamily buildings offering 670 residential units, and 27,846 square feet of commercial space. The development will be constructed in phases. The first phase will consist of a six-story 70,000-square foot building that would house municipal offices. The building would have 30,000 square feet dedicated for city hall, 25,000 square feet allocated for a new police station, and 15,000 square feet for a library. A 15-story multifamily tower with 35 residential units along with a seven-story parking garage containing 360 spaces will round out the first phase. The second phase will include an additional 15-story tower with 335 residential units and a second seven-story parking garage offering 550 spaces. The parking garages will occupy the first seven stories of the buildings with the residences on the eight stories above. The redevelopment will also feature a dog park, playground, civic plaza and the 27,500-square foot Jean Willis Park.
