Gallaudet 6th Street (Parcel 4) Update 07/25/22

Plans Unveiled for Parcel 4 of Gallaudet University's 6th Street Redevelopment 

Plans have been revealed by Gallaudet University and JBG SMITH for the 78,936 sq. ft. lot that makes up parcel 4. The developers are proposing to develop the parcel into a 120-foot, 647-unit residential development directly behind Union Market.

Parcel 4 is part of Gallaudet University's 1.5 million SF 2022 Campus Plan to deliver over 450,000 square feet of office and administrative space, 129,000 square feet of retail, and up to 1,769 residential units.

"The Project incorporates a series of outdoor experiences for residents through the use of private and communal terraces and for visitors and retail patrons with the entry plaza on 5th Street," application documents stated.

"The ground floor plan also includes private outdoor terrace spaces for use by retail tenants, further generating a pedestrian vibrancy throughout the public realm surrounding the Property." The 650-unit development will have 33,500 square feet of retail space and approximately 345 parking spaces. Roughly 10% of the residential units will be affordable.
