Precast Panels on site of East Tampa Recreation Center Expansion
The first batch of over 200 precast panels for the East Tampa Recreational Complex project at Fair Oaks Park have arrived on site. The City of Tampa is expanding the East Tampa Recreation Complex at Fair Oaks. This world-class, comprehensive recreation complex will provide a variety of indoor and outdoor community spaces, services and recreational activities that will better serve the local community. The project will also incorporate the Herbert D. Carrington Sr. Community Lake, and several recently acquired adjacent properties into a pedestrian-friendly and better-connected campus. The centerpiece is a 33,055 square-foot center, with space dedicated to seniors, classrooms, and an indoor basketball court. Once fully completed, the 10.25 acres complex will include an outdoor basketball court, two outdoor pickleball courts, a multipurpose sports field, 1.5 miles of walking trails and 26 benches.
The existing Fair Oaks Community Center will remain open until the new community center is completed.
