Proposed Mission Hill mixed-use building would create new Laneway neighborhood public space


New Urban Partners proposes to construct a six-story mixed-use building at 9 Burney Street in Mission Hill, which would feature 31 apartment residences and a 1,900-square-foot ground-floor restaurant facing The Laneway, a new neighborhood public space. The building would be located just off of Tremont Street, minutes from the Roxbury Crossing MBTA Orange Line station, and feature residences ranging from studios to two-bedrooms. Construction of 9 Burney Street would commence in the second quarter of 2018, with completion expected in the third quarter of 2019. New Urban Partners has filed plans for the proposed building, which would replace a surface parking lot and a triple-decker apartment building with a detached single-story storage building, with the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA), commencing the project’s city review process.
